Bachchhan Paandey is an Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Farhad Samji, written by Nischay Kuttanda and Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arshad Warsi. It is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film Jigarthanda which itself was inspired by the 2006 South Korean movie A Dirty Carnival. The film is scheduled to be released theatrically on 18 March 2022.
Bachchhan Paandey was initially supposed to a remake of Veeram but the makers altered the script to come up with an original idea. Later sources, however, report that Bachchhan Paandey is a remake of the Tamil film Jigarthanda.
The title derives from a character of the same name, played by Kumar, in the 2008 actioner Tashan. The title was initially spelled Bachchan Pandey but was later changed to Bachchhan Paandey.
Principal photography commenced on 6 January 2021 in Jaisalmer. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the shooting was delayed, but filming has started on 6 January. and was wrapped up in July 2021.
As per the latest development, the makers took to social media to announce the new theatrical release date of their eagerly-awaited action comedy on the auspicious occasion of Holi by launching two new action-packed posters of the movie.

While one poster features Akshay seated on a truck pointing gun at the sky along with a group of people, the other one sees the superstar in a rugged avatar, sporting chains around his neck and a bag loaded with guns and weapons.
